I know, Halloween hasn't even come yet and I already have a Christmas wishlist. Well, that's just me. I start reminding people of my birthday in January, and I was born in April. So the thing is, I already have a large amount of vegan nutrition and cookbooks, especially by Neal Barnard, M.D. Dr. Barnard founded and is the current president of
Physicians Committe for Responsible Medicine. Please, check out their website and free vegetarian/vegan literature. The number one vegan cookbook I am wanting right now is the
Vegan Soulfood Guide to the Galaxy by Afya Ibomu. First off, let me just say that Afya Ibomu is a beautiful woman. Must be something to that veganism. My sister owns her crochet how-to book. She is the former nutritionist to Erykah Badu. And what I love most about her book is that it comes with an instructional DVD entitled
Pimp My Tofu. Too cute. I know from much experience that tofu can be the most delicious food if prepared well, or the most disgusting if not prepared well (a la my college cafateria). Some of the more delicious tofu creations I have had include BBQ, curry, and baked sweet and salty. I would love to create my own delicious tofu recipes, and her instructional DVD might be just what I need. The other vegan books I would like are the following:
This vegan literature by black women would be the perfect present under my Christmas tree.
